Raymond Jacque Sabouraud, French (1864-1938) Bronze Figure "A Girl Riding a Dolphin". Fully Signed, Dated 1928, bronze with dark brown patina, height: 33 cm (13in.), initialed and dated on base; with Valsuani foundry stamp, LOT NOTES Ramound Sabouraud was a french physician specialising in dermotology and mycology, as well as an acclaimed sculptor and painter most known for his bronze nudes. While successfully working in the field of microbiology and creating the internationally renown Sabouraud agar in 1892, he also made his debut as a sculpter in 1889. After Raymond Jacques Adrien befriended the painter Odien Redon in 1905, he soon became a regular member of the Societe du Salon d'automne and also participated in the Salon des Tuleries, along with artists such as Raol Dufy, Alberto Giacometti, Marc Chagall, and George Rouault. The present lot was cast in 1929 at the Valsuani foundry, used by the like of Rodin, Degas, Renoir, Modigliani, and Matisse. The Same year, the book Raymond Sabouraud sculpteur was published with a preface by French art historiann Elle Faure, detailing Sabouraud's work as a sculptor. Condition: Excellent. Due to space restrictions, all items not picked up within 30 days of the auction that they were purchased in will be considered abandoned unless prior arrangements were made. We reserve the right to dispose of or resell any abandoned items without prior notice. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.
Pick-up is between the hours of 10:30am - 3:30pm, Monday-Friday. If you are picking up, please let us know 1-2 business days prior so we may prepare your items for you. You are responsible for bringing packing materials/boxes as we do not provide them.

Conditions of Sale
Payment is required within 5 business days after the auction and can be made online, via wire transfer, check, cash, or credit card. Make all checks payable to World Auction Gallery. Please Note- Credit card will NOT be accepted over the phone for any type of jewelry unless you are known to us. A $25 fee will be required if paying via wire transfer.
